1 Month To Go

Saturday was Jaron's 11 month birthday. Wow! I can't believe that in less than a month we will be celebrating his 1st year of life! Time flies! Jaron decided to celebrate his 11 month birthday by falling down the stairs. We were at my parents' house and everyone thought that someone else was watching Jaron, so it turned out that none of us were watching him. We discovered this fact when we heard him screaming and found him laying on his back at the bottom of their stairs, all alone. Since no one was there watching him, we have no idea how far up the stairs he had actually gotten. But, as with most accidents with children, he is fine and just has a small bruise on his forehead to show for it. But it sure made me feel like a lousy parent!

that kid is a tank. I bet it more startled him than actually hurt him. Glad he's alright though.

Holy granola! That would frighten me to death if my daughter did something like that.

I read somewhere that kids heads dont fully fuse (or whatever the term is) until they're 2 years old, so they can take falls without much damage. glad he's ok!

Yes, he IS a tank and it's a good thing too! He's got all the padding he needs to protect him from whatever happens to him while his parents aren't watching him! I look forward to the house Jaron will buy me once he gets his NFL contract.

Bob, I heard that too, but I thought it was when they are 1 years old?? Maybe you're right though...

Oh the ups and downs (pun intended!) of being parents! Seth, at the ripe age of 9 months decided to throw his legs back over his head when I had him on his changing table. I was right there!! But, alas, he flipped himself back between me and the wall! Did I feel like a horrible mother?? You bet! But at the time he was screaming and I was running around the house crying, the phone rang. It was a good friend of ours. He noticed the distress in my voice and gave me the encouraging words, "that's why God made babies soft!" Now, it's come full circle. A couple weeks ago, Seth's baby fell down the stairs when his grandfather was "supposed" to be watching him. (He still denies we said we were going downstairs, and he needed to watch the baby!) Bump, bump, bump, bumpity, bumpity, bump! Loud screams and cacophony! Again I heard those words and even said them myself..."that's why God made babies soft!" If only this would be the only thing to happen to them.....
