Need Advice on Baby Slings
As D-Day approaches, I am STARTING to think about things that we will need for this next baby. One of the things that I think that I would like to get is a baby sling. I figure that I will need my hands to be free more with having Jaron to watch over, so it would be nice to be able to carry my baby without my hands being taken up. We have a Baby Bjorn, but Jaron never liked it and it seems like a sling would be nicer cuz you could nurse more easily from it and the baby would be in a more comfortable position to sleep, if I was out somewhere and he/she fell asleep while in it. So my question for blog land is 1)Are baby slings actually a nice thing to have?, and 2) Which brand is best (or are there certain kinds I should be avoiding)? Any input would be appreciated.

My little sick boy
Yesterday Jaron and I went to Coolidge Park hoping to meet up with some other moms, but no one showed. So Jaron and I had some quality one on one time, which is what we get all the time, but we still had fun! I started to realize that it won't be long until Jaron will not have his mom all to himself anymore. So I guess I need to be appreciating these last couple of months of only having one kid. Unfortunately, we haven't had much "fun" since going to the park yesterday morning because Jaron has some kind of stomach bug. He has had diarrhea for 2 days now and he hasn't been eating much. I am hoping he gets over it soon. I don't know how much more of his diapers I can take!! For those of you that have been pregnant before, you should know how sensitive your smell is when you are pregnant. So it hasn't been easy on this mama! But we are hanging in there. I'm just glad that he hasn't been throwing up. Jaron has been pretty moody - he'll go from laughing and being his regular silly self to whining and crying and there is nothing I can do to make him happy. It hasn't helped that it has been raining so much because going outside is the one way to always make him happy. But hopefully he will be over this soon and life will go back to normal.

Easter Pictures
Here is our 2006 Easter photo. Probably Christmas and Easter are the only times that we are guaranteed to take a family photo. I like the second one because Jaron is making such a goofy face. He just started making that face a few days ago and does it all the time (scrunchies up his nose and squints his eyes). I don't know why he started doing it or where he got it from, but its pretty funny (except when it is often followed by some form of whining, which is something else he has been doing a lot of recently).

On Saturday we went to one of Ben's aunt's house and were able to visit with his dad's side of the family. Below is a picture of all of Jaron's cousins and all of Ben's cousins' (on his dad's side) kids. Would that make them Jaron's 3rd cousins??

They also did an easter egg hunt while we were there and Jaron found 2 eggs and was done. He like shaking them and then opening them up and sorting the jellybeans inside of them and then putting them back in.

Yesterday, for Easter Sunday, we went over to my parents' house. They also did an easter egg hunt and Jaron did the same thing again - found 3 eggs (he was able to carry 2 in one hand this time) and just played with their contents the rest of the time while everyone else continued to look for eggs. He refused to hold his basket, and even when he finally put his eggs in the basket, he immediately took them back out and continued carrying them around. I guess he wanted to make sure that no one stole his precious eggs!

Once a month blogger
I am starting to think that it is unrealistic to expect a blog entry from me more than once a month! I always have good intentions and mean to post something, but I never seem to get around to it. I don't know how you other moms out there do it. So here is a quick update of life:
~ I am 31 weeks pregnant and getting bigger by the day. I am gaining more weight with this pregnancy, even though I feel like my stomach is smaller (which is not good in terms of gaining weight in other places). I am only 5 pounds short of my total weight gain with Jaron and I still have AT LEAST 9 weeks to go. Yikes! Ben's company got free YMCA memberships, so I need to get over there and start taking advantage of their facility. I hate exercising by myself, though, but all this weight gain may be enough motivation to get me out the door! Maybe a pregnancy swim class would be fun.
~I've gotten to the point in my pregnancy where parking near a shopping cart dropoff is more important than parking near the front door of the store. The reason being simple: I can hardly carry my son anymore so I need to be able to get him out of the car and immediately into a shopping cart! I would let him walk, but he runs away from me too much and right now, he can outrun me!
~ Jaron continues to get bigger too, or at least growing up. He is saying a lot of words now. It's fun to be able to communicate with him and actually have semi-conversations with him. It is neat to see him grow into a little boy. I'm praying that he will adjust well to his new little sibling in a couple of months. He has no idea how much his life is about to change!
~ Jaron has been working at finding ways to help me out more. Just a few days ago, he decided that he wanted the sponge I was using to wipe off the counters. When I gave it to him, he proceeded to clean the refrigerator, cabinets, and anything else that he could reach and that he got permission from me to clean! It is now one of his favorite things to do!
~ We went to the aquarium for the first time last Friday. It was Jaron's first time AND my first time. Yes, I have lived in Chattanooga for 6 years (wow, has it really been that long?) and have never been to the city's great tourist attraction. I ended up getting the 1 year membership since it basically pays for itself with just 2 visits. I figured that it would be nice to have a place to go when the weather is bad and we need to get out of the house. Jaron seemed to like it, even though he freaked out when we first walked in. I think it was all a little overwhelming for him, but he warmed up to it and was soon running down the ramps with his uncles Seth and Isaiah.
Here is a picture of my future track star.
Here is my little sleeping boy. I am told that this was how I used to love sleeping when I was little. Ben said that he used to love sleeping this way too. Do most kids like sleeping with their bottoms up in the air?
Just so you know, I started this blog entry 3 days ago and am just now getting around to finishing it! Now you know why I only do this once a month!
